Origins

For more than three decades, my wife and I have held a variety of pastoral, ministerial, and lay leadership positions in the church.

It’s always been our goal in retirement to assist other local congregations reach out to their communities and complete the Great Commission by providing critical lay leader assistance to help new, developing, troubled, and even established churches grow the body of Christ.

We recognized that we had several skill gaps in various aspects of church life in preparation for this calling. As we began to pray, asking God how we might fill these holes, we began looking for information and resources that would help educate and prepare us for ministry in areas where we were unskilled.

...there is an overabundance of resources and knowledge available to churches to improve their ministries and operations.

We soon discovered that there is an overabundance of resources and knowledge available to churches to improve their ministries and operations. The issue we discovered was that there was no simple way to discover all of this information and wisdom, nor to determine the author’s credibility or the usefulness of the recommendations.

...we needed a method to collect, curate, archive, and resurface important information on-demand.

We realized that we needed a method to collect, curate, archive, and resurface important information on-demand. We started using applications like Pocket, Instapaper, and Readwise to accomplish this.

The Spirit began to move in me…other people must be going through the same challenge. While my solution is useful for me, hundreds if not thousands of others may be dealing with the same issue.

This is where the stage was set for ChristosSoma.

ChristosSoma was created to collect, curate, archive, and resurface important resources from reliable sources for our own ministry use and make this information available to other church leaders.
